ONE POSITIVE NATS COVID TEST, 4 IN QUARANTINE: TONIGHT’S OPENER POSTPONED!

By Sam Bush

Tonight’s opener between the Nats and the New York Mets has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

Washington received one positive COVID-19 test from a player yesterday, MLB announced. An additional four players were placed in quarantine to follow contract tracing protocols, meaning none of the five players would be available for today’s game at Nationals Park.

“We’re unable to disclose any additional information about who tested positive,” general manager Mike Rizzo said yesterday. “But we are following MLB protocols and CDC protocols and working closely with the league to determine our next steps. There’ll be a lot of balls in the air until then.”
