WEIRD THAT I’M A WIZARD, ISAIAH THOMAS ADMITS!

So Isaiah Thomas signed with the Wizards, which counts as the their lone score in free agency.

When Thomas was on the Boston Celtics, the Wizards and Celtics had an intense rivalry.

Thomas, who signed a one-year deal with Washington, talked about that dynamic on yesterday in Las Vegas.

“It was never personal. It’s weird to say that I am a Washington Wizard,” Thomas said, told NBC Sports Washington. “I was competing with them two or three years in the Eastern Conference and we’re battling, it felt like we hated each other.”

A lot has changed since Thomas was traded from the Celtics to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the summer of 2017 in the blockbuster Kyrie Irving trade.

Thomas hasn’t been able to regain his All-Star from due to the serious hip injury he suffered in the 2017 playoffs. IT underwent surgery on his hip in 2018 when he was with the Los Angeles Lakers. The former MVP candidate was on the Denver Nuggets this past season, but only played in 12 games and fell out of the rotation.

With the Wizards, Thomas has a chance to play a lot of minutes since star point guard John Wall is recovering from heel and Achilles surgery.
