Jeff Bezos, who bought the Washington Post in 2013, has an interest in buying an NFL franchise, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.
La Canfora reports one owner the Amazon founder (who is in the process of moving to the area) has become close with is Washington’s Daniel Snyder, who is 20 years of ownership has taken the Redskins from the NFL’s heights to its depths.
While buying the Redskins from Snyder may not be feasible or something either person wants, Bezos could play a role in helping to secure the franchise a new stadium.
The Redskins have struggled to secure the land for a new location to leave FedEx Field before their lease is up with the Landover ground in 2026.
The Redskins have struggled to find a suitable site to build a new stadium and while the RFK Stadium site is a potential spot there is an added complication of it being on federal land.
