Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins suffered a high-ankle sprain in the 41-35 loss to the New York Giants, and according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, head coach Bill Callahan says he will be sidelined for the season finale in Dallas:
Redskins coach Bill Callahan says Dwayne Haskins’ rookie season is over. Haskins came on the last few weeks.
Haskins completed 12-of-15 passes for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. The rookie was initially optimistic about being able to make his return for the last game of the season to try and end things on a high note, however, it appears he will not get the chance.
Washington took him with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he has shown some promise in recent weeks and will be going into the offseason with plenty to work on as he looks to establish himself as the clear-cut starter.
The onus will fall on the rest of the organization to provide an environment where he can develop into a franchise quarterback.
