The Maryland National Guard is setting up tents at FedEx Field as they prepare to use the stadium grounds as a COVID-19 testing site.

In a statement to WJLA’s Brad Bell, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks explained that the site is being staged for a pilot program for screening, which could become operational – “by registration only” – over the next week.

“The goal for the site is to become a testing location in the future,” she says. “At the direction of Governor Larry Hogan, the Maryland National Guard is assisting in building the site, and we thank the Washington Redskins for allowing us to utilize the FedEx Field parking lot.

“We will share more information about when the site will be operational and how to register, in the coming days.”
