HERE ARE NHL REALIGNED DIVISIONS IN A COVID-AFFECTED 2020-21!

By Ben Sullivan

In an effort to limit travel for the shortened 2020-21 season, the NHL is proposing a four-division realignment, which includes an all-Canadian division, sources tell The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun.

Below are the divisions as they currently stand:

― Boston, Buffalo, New Jersey, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, CAPS

― Carolina, Columbus, Detroit, Chicago, Florida, Minnesota, Nashville, Tampa Bay

― Anaheim, Arizona, Colorado, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Jose, St. Louis, Vegas

― Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal.

These divisions are not yet final and are subject to change, sources added. The hope is for the new season to begin on Jan. 13, with training camps opening as early as Jan. 1.
