Now that John Wall is gone to the Rockets, Bradley Beal is the Wiz elder statesman.
And he is happy to impart his Wizdom to 19-year old Deni Avdija, the Israel League MVP who was grabbed by the Wizards as their ninth overall pick in this year’s draft and the whole organization has high hopes for this young star
“I was thrown right to the fire, like you were.” Beal told Avdija during practice (via Wizards on Twitter). “You’re always going to feel like you didn’t do good because you have high expectations for yourself, and you should. I would say, just embrace every single moment of the year. You’re gonna have good days, horrible days and in-between days. Embrace all of them because you need all of them.”
Vet to rook. All-Star to lottery pick.

Avdija was one of the brightest prospects in the 2020 draft class after an impressive three-year stint with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel where he won three titles and an MVP crown. He’s looking to make a big splash in the NBA and looks to add to the young core of the Wizards with the likes Thomas Bryant and Rui Hachimura.
Beal, the Wizards’ third overall pick in the 2012 draft, is looking to lead this young Wizards team back to playoff contention. Last year’s runner-up scoring champ will be beside former MVP Russell Westbrook who came in the blockbuster trade between the Wizards and the Rockets. Both Beal and Westbrook are hoping to steer their young players like Avdija towards the right direction as a new chapter in DC is set to begin.
