Alex Smith is still recovering from a calf injury, so Dwayne Haskins was seen at practice today taking reps with the first-string offense, according to reporters on the scene.
Haskins hasn’t had the best of luck with Washington this season. He lost his starting job to Smith earlier in the year, which prompted a bit of backlash from both Haskins and his agent at the timing of the decision.
Even now Haskins continues to find himself involved in drama. The 23-year-old quarterback seemingly breached COVID-19 protocols after pictures surfaced of him being maskless in a strip club with several women around.
Washington handled the matter internally and decided to take away his captainship:
Source: Washington Football Team QB Dwayne Haskins’ captainship was taken away following his COVID-19 violation that included being photographed at a strip club without a mask. His teammates had voted him a captain in camp. This is part of the internal punishment for Haskins.

Despite this, Haskins is still in line to start if Smith can’t play, so hopefully he can turn around his dramatic season if he winds up getting the call under center.
Washington will face off against the 4-10 Carolina Panthers on Sunday in their second-to-last game of the regular season.
