Nationals GM Mike Rizzo says that Stephen Strasburg (neck, shoulder) is expected to be ready for spring training.
Strasburg required neurogenic thoracic outlet surgery back in late July, but he resumed throwing at the beginning of this month and the hope is that the 33-year-old right-hander can make it through a relatively normal offseason program.
He’s worked just seven starts for Washington over the last two years combined, registering an ugly 5.74 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 23/15 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings.
