CHASE YOUNG HAS REPORTED FOR COMMANDERS VOLUNTARY PROGRAMS

By Lew Gould

The Athletic’s Ben Standig reports Commanders edge Chase Young has reported for voluntary offseason programs.

Young is still waiting to hear whether or not the Commanders will pick up the fifth-year option of his rookie deal.

Young was the 2020 Defensive Rookie of the Year and skipped voluntary workouts in 2021.

A torn ACL limited his ability to participate last offseason, but Young is reportedly in the building and ready to improve on a mostly lost 2022 season.

The team has been non-committal about their desire to exercise Young’s fifth-year option, which would pay out $17.452 million next season.
