ANTONIO GIBSON WILL GET MORE TOUCHES IN BIENIEMY’S 2023 OFFENSE

By Lew Gould

Commanders HC Ron Rivera said he would like to get Antonio Gibson more touches in 2023,  the first season with Eric Bieniemy at the offensive helm, noting he’s intrigued by the way Gibson fits into “what Eric Bieniemy wants to do with the offense.”

A former wide receiver who converted to running back, Gibson has the kind of versatility that Bieniemy’s running backs had in Kansas City.

Gibson rushed for a career-low 149-546-3 last season but saw career highs in receptions (46) and receiving yards (353). Gibson is arguably the most versatile back on Washington’s roster at this time and could be a value in the middle of PPR drafts.

Brian Robinson still stands to threaten for early down touches and goal line work, but any added reps in the passing game can only be a positive for Gibson’s fantasy outlook this season.
