After a field goal stretched Dallas’ lead to 13 points in the fourth quarter, the Commanders failed on back-to-back fourth downs and threw a pick-six to fuel a 45-10 Cowboys win that stretched Washington’s losing streak to three games.
It also leaves them with a 4-8 record and an extended break before Week 13 that’s going to be full of speculation about what the future holds for the organization.
Head coach Ron Rivera said he’s “not worried” about his job security after the game, but change is starting to feel inevitable and wide receiver Terry McLaurin said he’s having a hard time making sense of how bad things have gotten for the team.
“I don’t know how you wrap your head around this,” McLaurin said, via Ben Standig of TheAthletic.com.
McLaurin was around for the last coaching change in Washington, so he has some experience with the kind of transition that appears to be headed the Commanders’ way.
